Le Pendu
Graduated in Biology of Organisms and Populations from the University of Rennes I, France; Master and PhD in Behavioral Sciences and Cognitive Neurosciences from Paul Sabatier University, Toulouse, France.
Scientific consultant in Niamey, Niger (1996-1998). Researcher and Visiting Professor at the Federal University of Pará (1999-2004). Professor at the State University of Santa Cruz since 2004. Coordinator of the Aquatic Mammal Research Group of Ilhéus (GPMAI), developing projects on the zoology and ecology of mammals with an emphasis on the study of cetacean populations in southern Bahia.

Alice Lima
She holds a degree in Biological Sciences (2011) and a master's degree in Zoology (2014) from the State University of Santa Cruz (UESC), and a PhD in Ethology from the Université de Rennes 1, France (2017). She has been a collaborator of the Aquatic Mammal Research Group of Ilhéus (GPMAI) since 2008, where she is currently a postdoctoral fellow. Her research focuses on cetacean bioacoustics, with an emphasis on the production and perception of vocalizations in species such as the gray dolphin and the bottlenose dolphin. In addition, Alice investigates the behavior of humpback whales, particularly in conservation and ecotourism contexts.

Bianca Righi
She holds a bachelor's degree in Biological Sciences from the Federal University of Rio Grande (FURG), a master's degree in Ecology and Biodiversity Conservation, and is a PhD candidate in Zoology, both from the State University of Santa Cruz (UESC). She has completed several voluntary internships with the rehabilitation of marine animals and wildlife, and monitoring (on board and from fixed points on land) of cetaceans, such as the humpback whale (Megaptera novaeangliae), the southern right whale (Eubalaena australis), and the Guiana dolphin (Sotalia guianensis). Her main research focuses on movement ecology, habitat use, and behavior of humpback whales and Guiana dolphins, and she has experience with photoidentification, biopsy collection, and acoustics. She is currently a PhD candidate and works with monitoring small and large cetaceans at the Instituto Baleia Jubarte (IBJ) and Projeto Baleia Jubarte (PBJ), respectively.

Laura Aguillar
Graduated in Biological Sciences from the Federal University of EspÃrito Santo (UFES). She was an intern at the Marine Fish Ecology Laboratory and a Scientific Initiation scholarship holder from the National Council for Scientific and Technological Development (CNPq), under the guidance of Prof. Dr. Mauricio Hostim Silva. She was an intern at the Marine Animal Rehabilitation Center of Northern EspÃrito Santo (CRAMNC). She developed a monograph on the mortality of turtles and seabirds with fishing interactions on the northern coast of EspÃrito Santo. She volunteered at the Humpback Whale Institute in 2022. She is currently a master's student in the postgraduate program in Zoology at UESC.

Glenda Castillo

In Honduras, she worked as a field technician at the Leather and Salt Foundation (FUCSA), monitoring the Antillean manatee ( Trichechus manatus manatus ) in its natural habitat, including the collection of biological data. She also worked as a consultant at the General Directorate of Fisheries and Aquaculture (DIGEPESCA) in the development of the Sustainable Sea Cucumber Fishing Protocol. Her experience is focused on conservation and sustainable management in protected areas, with a focus on studying the behavior and ecology of the Antillean manatee. Her research interests include behavior and ecology of aquatic mammals, conservation, and ethnobiology.
